If you want a taste of authentic Mexican tamales to to this place ... the taste of the chili remember me of my childhood at my abuela house and the masa taste as real nixtamal not simple masa...

Food here is average. Service is terrible. The "owner " is very rude. Also if you customize your order it's a huge problem, in my case when I say customize, I asked for no lettuce and was told I had to pay more because you can not opt out of anything on the special. After being rude about not getting lettuce, I asked for meat and cheese only I barley got cheese. We order this in our office and we will never go back.

I'm really surprised this place isn't more popular. Sure, the guy up front isn't the most cheerful person on the p, but I wouldn't say he's rude, just a little terse. Their salsa game is on point- both mild and hot sauces are excellent, and their chips are great as well. I usually get a torta, either Barbacoa or Pork. The tortas are great-- good balance of textures-- savory meat, fresh veg, creamy beans, cheese, and avocado, and each one comes with a slice of ham, which amps up the flavor. Probably the second best torta I've found in the KC metro, and definitely the best at its price. I've also gotten the Chile Rojo, which is also excellent, with tender chunks of pork and potatoes.
My last visit, I got a torta, a plate of chili with sides of beans and rice, a good sized bag of chips, and 3 containers of hot salsa for $17.75. Heck of a deal, and more than enough for 2 very filling meals. No complaints here. -

I have enjoyed eating here for more than 5 years now. Our house favorite is to visit on Tuesday and order the Chicken Roll Up! Great ratio of homemade rice, grilled onions, and chicken wrapped in a tortilla and cover is cheese sauce possibly created in heaven. A second choice when we want to be filled but feel a little more fresh would be an abi ago tostada with chicken or a beef sope. At just over $1.50 each you can't go wrong and I am amazed at feeling full on less than $5.

Food is so good and authentic. One of 2 places where I will order burritos, they are just like the homemade ones my grandma and I make. Kids love the tacos. Everything we've had there is so good. Love the location, too.
